Black History – Teacher’s Resource

Updated and improved in 2020, Black History: Africa, the Caribbean, and the Americas – Teacher’s Resource is a teacher-friendly companion to the revised student resource, Black History: Africa, the Caribbean, and the Americas, a resource that introduces students to significant individuals, movements, and events in the history of people of African descent. The Teacher’s Resource provides teachers with practical, ready-for-class learning activities and resources that bring to life every chapter of the student resource.

Each learning activity in the Teacher’s Resource begins with an overview that includes a suggested time for the activity, a brief description of the activity, and a list of anything that a teacher may have to prepare in advance. The activities themselves include everything that a teacher would need for the activity: suggested teaching strategies and all handouts, graphic organizers, and rubrics for the activity – all of which may be scanned or photocopied directly out of the resource. Each activity also includes a list of additional print, visual, and online sources of information; and offers suggested extension activities for those students who may wish to explore a particular topic more deeply.

The Black History: Africa, the Caribbean, and the Americas – Teacher’s Resource, which is in alignment with current best practices in pedagogy, provides teachers with everything that they need to address the content of the student resource.
