The 2024 Ubuntu Africentric Conference, dedicated to exploring the transformative power of AI through the lens of Ubuntu, will be jointly hosted by the DBDLI and our partners in South Africa, the University of Venda and the University of Pretoria. [Details Inside]
This year’s Report to Community is being held at the beautiful Black Loyalist Heritage Centre in Birchtown, NS. We’d love your participation too and invite you to join our livestream on YouTube on June 20th at 6 PM. This is a great opportunity to hear what we’ve been doing over the past year, come virtually celebrate with us!

As we look back on our 3rd annual DBDLI/Deveau lecture, our hearts are brimming with gratitude for the exceptional individuals and organizations that made it an indelible and enriching experience. We are deeply thankful to each and every one of you for contributing to the success of this remarkable gathering.
The History Challenges are back! For 2024, we’re continuing with our hybrid model, but online form registration is mandatory for all entries. Submissions deadline is extended until February 29, 2024. We can't wait to see what your students create to celebrate African Nova Scotian history and heritage!
