As we look back on our 3rd annual Deveau/DBDLI Lecture, our hearts are brimming with gratitude for the exceptional individuals and organizations that made it an indelible and enriching experience. We are deeply thankful to each and every one of you for contributing to the success of this remarkable gathering.

Our journey began with a moving libation ceremony, gracefully led by the Asokore Traditional Elders from Ghana and a welcome from Randy Headley, the esteemed DBDLI board chair. Their involvement set the stage for an evening filled with meaning and resonance.

Nana (George Sefa) Dei’s presence and profound insights illuminated our gathering, fostering deep contemplation and inspiration among all present. His dedication and passion were deeply felt and his words were held in the highest regard.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our moderators, Dr. Wendy Mackey and Shawna-Kay Lawrence, whose guidance and expertise enriched the event, steering conversations toward enlightenment and inclusivity.

The Deveau Foundation, supported unwaveringly by the estate of Jeannine Deveau, has been instrumental in bringing forth this annual lecture series, showcasing a steadfast belief in the importance of Africentric Education.

We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Centre for Integrative Anti-Racism Studies at the University of Toronto for their invaluable partnership, significantly contributing to the success and impact of our event.

To our cherished guests, your participation and engagement have been pivotal to the evening’s success. Your forthcoming feedback will play a crucial role in guiding DBDLI’s growth and evolution. We encourage you to anticipate the release of the event recording on our YouTube Channel in the new year, allowing for further reflection and dissemination of these profound discussions.

Thank you all for being a part of this exceptional evening. Your contributions and presence have left an indelible mark. May the upcoming months bring forth continued learning and growth.
