DBDLI presents African Nova Scotian Voices Speaking: with a group (of minimum 5), submit a 3-minute video for International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (March 21). Applicant videos may be of, but not limited to:

  • a spoken word piece
  • a re-enactment
  • a song or poem

The video should be related to the 3 pillars in the Decade for the People of African Descent (United Nations) which are: Recognition, Justice, Development.

Selected group projects will receive $100 distributed by their school.

Submission Details

  • Submission Deadline: March 12, 2021 at 4 PM

  • Winners Announced: March 18, 2021

Submissions may also be sent via email to submissions@youthartconnection.ca

The submission email should include:

  • Name of school
  • Name & role of adult support (Student Success Teacher, Student Support Worker, etc.)
  • Name, grade, and phone & email for each student participant (First name Last name – Grade Level – Email – Phone Number)
  • Completed shared use release forms (see below)

The final projects will be used in future conferences held by DBDLI and will be posted through our media channels to be shared via our website.
