African Nova Scotian Elders from historical African Nova Scotian communities are invited to submit personal reflections on events in their lifetime, or ones handed down from family.

The DBDLI will be selecting stories under the following themes:

  • Your Community: Historical events connected to community;
  • Back in the Day: One room schools, segregation;
  • The Church: A.U.B.A connection and stories;
  • Stories About the Struggle: Working in Nova Scotia under hard conditions.
