Mc'Edward Jones

As the Manager of Finance, Mc’Edward provides financial administration, advice and oversight to the Delmore “Buddy” Daye Learning Institute (the DBDLI), ensuring that the financial business and related human resources matters of the organization are managed efficiently and effectively.

He brings to this role over 10 years of experience in Accounting, financial management, payroll, human resources, and business administration from the Private, Not-for-profit, and Public sectors.

He enjoys working with NFP’s and community organizations because he believes his contributions can help the organization serve the community better in fulfilling its objectives while remaining accountable to the community and partners.

He values the power of strong community organizations and the role they play to influence necessary positive changes in the local communities. He volunteers with various organizations in numerous capacities within the HRM.

He loves to sing and does so with various organizations and groups in Halifax. Mc’Edward was born and raised in Freetown, Sierra Leone and now resides in Halifax with his family.

He is looking forward to ways he can use his role to contribute to the success of DBDLI’s current and future strategic goals and overall mandate.
