Kay-Ann Scott (née McKoy) is an experienced and dedicated educator from Jamaica, with over 20 years of experience in the field. Throughout her career, Kay-Ann has demonstrated a strong commitment to student success and a passion for education. Kay-Ann’s experience spans across a variety of local and international educational settings, including elementary and post-secondary institutions. She has also worked in the Ministry of Education (Jamaica) and USAID (Jamaica) in roles such as a Teacher, Literacy Coach, Supervisory Literacy Coach, and Research Officer. Additionally, she completed a nine-year stint as an International Teacher in Fayetteville, NC USA. Recently, she is engaged in research and projects at the Delmore “Buddy” Daye Learning Institute.

In addition to her work in education, Kay-Ann is deeply committed to professional development and continuing education. She holds two Master’s degrees with specializations in Educational Leadership (VCU, Richmond USA) and Educational Linguistics (SMU, Halifax Canada), respectively. Her passion for organizational culture and transformational change is evident in her work and commitment to the education sector.

Kay-Ann is also an active community volunteer, who has worked with numerous not-for-profit organizations, such as the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (Jamaica), Fayetteville Arts Council (USA), and the Caribbean Connection of Fayetteville (USA) promoting global citizenship. Currently, she volunteers at the Halifax Public Library, engaging adult English Language Learners.

With her wealth of experience, dedication to education, and commitment to community service, she continues to champion positive change in the world through education and community engagement.
