The role of the Delmore “Buddy” Daye Learning Institute is to address educational issues which impact African Canadian/Nova Scotian learners and their communities. The Board of Directors of the Delmore “Buddy” Daye Learning Institute are tasked with identifying and addressing these educational issues. Our goal is to assist African Canadian/Nova Scotian learners, their communities and the Institute reach their full potential. As stewards of the Delmore “Buddy” Daye Learning Institute, we are moving forward to address these issues.
The Board appreciates the support of the Minister of Education and her Department over the years in the development of the Institute. It also acknowledges that much work has been done and many contributions have been made by African Canadian/Nova Scotian communities, educational and community partners and various stakeholders. The Board looks forward to continuing the working relationship with the African Canadian/Nova Scotian communities, the Department of Education, educational and community partners and the various stakeholders.
The Board of Directors of the Delmore “Buddy” Daye Learning Institute remain committed to African Canadian/Nova Scotian learners as we move forward. The Board will continue to be a bridge for acquiring new knowledge, exploring and supporting new ways of learning, delivering innovative programs, engaging in educational research and providing learning opportunities as these are necessary components to growth and development.
